Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Supervisor

Fluidraâs looking for an EHS Supervisor to join our team at our Specialty Products Facility in West Valley City, UT.

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTEÂ
The EHS Supervisor will facilitate a safe working environment for employees and their activities using best business practices to manage resources, services, and processes to meet the needs of the facility. The EHS Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with corporate policy and applicable local and Federal laws. Additionally, you will:Â
- Oversee environmental health and safety program
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes
- Coordinate procedures and programs and files regulatory reports in compliance with the local, state, and federal agencies as well as with Corporate USA and Spain requirements
- Implement and manage the companyâs safety program including policies, programs, and practices
- Collaboratively partner with HR in the handling of safety incidents and workers compensation claims as needed.
- Ensure all incidents and injuries are thoroughly investigated and ensures preparation of required material and evidence for any further corrective/preventative actions that may be required
- Assist in the implementation and execution of CI strategy vis Lean (5s) and six sigma methods to deliver bottom line, quantified results
- Assure security of the facility and maintains access systems

WHAT WE SEEK
- 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and managing proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience implementing and maintaining 5S, training, and development programs.
- Solid administrative and organizational skills, with expertise in Microsoft Office and other similar application packages
- Ability to identify potential safety issues and utilize leading/lagging indicators to implement programs designed to reduce safety incidents.
- Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines
- Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements
- Ability to turn goals into actionable results with a proven record of accomplishments
- Highly pro-active with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Lean Manufacturing Certification preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of Industrial Engineering tools (Time Studies, Workflow Analysis, Pareto Charts, etc.) preferred
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred

EDUCATION
Bachelorâs Degree Business or Engineering or equivalent experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to read and write, sit, walk within the facility to access file cabinets, documents, stand, talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 10 pounds. They also occasionally move objects weighing up to 20 lbs., and sometimes, but rarely, up to 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working on a ladder up to 20 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
