The Environmental Health and Safety Professional II will be responsible for administering environmental, health and safety programs at their assigned location. They will be responsible for advising and working with managers and personnel on a daily basis regarding safety management, regulatory compliance, and environmental related operational programs.

This position will serve our Replacement Parts Division, located in Randleman, NC. This is an on-site position and you will perform this job entirely at our Randleman office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate activities related to the facility Safety Programs.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local Government Regulations.
- Responsible for the administration of incident investigation, ergonomics, Lock out tag out (LOTO), recordkeeping, and First Responder programs.
- Creating and maintaining the contractor safety program
- Maintain internal records and statistics on employee safety and health.
- Serve as a leader in safety committee activities.
- Promote facility safety programs and administer periodic employee safety training.
- Coordinate, communicate and train plant employees on the personal protective equipment, job hazard analysis, and OSHA required programs.
- Maintain OSHA records as per government regulations.
- Develop ideas and generate solutions for hazards identified in the work environment.
- Provide safety orientation and Forklift certifications to workers.
- Conduct official safety audits and perform walk around inspections to observe workers performing activities.
- Responsible for plant/warehouse safety systems/equipment; including but not limited to IPVs, security systems, fire monitoring, alarms, suppression, etc.
- Ensure compliance on environmental systems and support waste disposal management.
- Provide medical services for work related injuries including completing proper charts, documentation, and associated reports.
- Administer physician recommended over-the-counter medications, first aid treatment, and follow-up treatment for work related injuries in accordance with approved medical practices.
- Prepare government, company, and workers' compensation insurance, forms and reports related to safety as required.
- Analyze workers' compensation claims and facilitate reports to management, along with participating in periodic workers' compensation meetings.
- Perform ergonomic evaluations advising management on mitigating at-risk processes.
- Represent the Company in legal proceedings.
- Conduct daily plant walkthroughs to observe safe/unsafe behaviors and conditions as well as provide employee feedback and answer questions.
- Develop and train Emergency Response Team to handle medical emergencies in the facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
WHAT YOU NEED
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Industrial Hygiene, Occupational and Environmental Health Science, engineering, or related field, from four-year college or university, or equivalent education and experience
- EMT or other medical background/certifications preferred.
- 3+ years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA Regulations
- Proficient in computer skills (Word, Excel and Power Point).
- Strong communicative skills (interpersonal, speaking, writing & listening) with the ability to present information and respond to questions from groups, directors or top management.
- Independent thought, good judgment, problem solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects is a MUST.
- Self-motivated with little or no supervision.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to make recommendations and/or solve problems.
