Summary

You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Range Compliance & Inspection Division, Environmental Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching, analyzing, interpreting, and applying environmental compliance rules, regulations (e.g. including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)), and procedures to programs focused on waste management, conducting compliance site inspections, and collecting data; 2) Planning, managing, and implementing environmental protection programs or projects and determining the approach to be taken; and 3) Providing technical and administrative oversight of environmental projects and contracts (e.g. scopes-of-work, specifications, and estimates).

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
