Job Purpose

The position supports the EnerSYs Operating System (EOS) transformation efforts. This position implements and supports actions that bring about improvements to operations and processes which may include, but are not limited to, safety, quality, delivery, cycle time, and inventory levels.

Projects will be integrated with the region/plants lean deployment efforts and meet the guidelines, criteria and metrics established by the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Executing against short-term objectives to support EOS goals.
2. Working with necessary plant personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process related obstacles.
3. Assisting in the change of systems/processes as required in support of the EOS initiatives.
4. Learn value stream mapping teschniques to actively participate on teams that develop optimal information, material, and production flow methods.
5. Act as a change agent to bring about improvements in process through the active support and participation of Rapid Inmprovement Events (RIEs) includes:
   • Owning pre/post standard work.
   • Participating in facilitating projects/events.
   • Participate in MDI Gemba walks.Train co-workers on standard work including off shift training.
6. Help update and maintain visual performance tools, including mission control, 5S and MDI boards.
7. Under guidance of EOS Manager conduct cycle time analysis, work balance/flow improvements, work place analysis and improvement.
8. Help develop more efficient ways to suse people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product.
9. Regular in person attendance with on time arrival/departure. Required to work irregular hours on short notice. Punctuality and dependability are a job requirement.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or the equivalent
• 24 montsh manufacturing experience
• Successful demonstration of Lean thinking and teamwork
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiplies and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Possess above average written and verbal communication skills; be able to demonstrate strong computer skills in use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with ability to create spreadsheets for analysis and tracking of data-based metrics and have proven MS proficiency.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A two year degree in a related field or at least 3 years' experience in a process improvement functions or 3 years' experience in a manufacturing facility.
