Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning, design, development, and implementation of Hillman IT and business projects. Responsible for delivery of all assigned projects within time, cost and scope/quality defined boundaries, in accordance to the IT PMO Methodology and best practices. Leads project team to deliver solutions addressing customer requirements. Applies rigorous project management methodology to initiate, plan, execute, control, and close out all assigned initiatives.

Key Results Areas (KRA's)
  • Exemplifies the Hillman "Own the Outcome" leadership in all facets of Project and Resource Management.
  • Manages cross functional teams across multiple locations in defining the project deliverables, milestones, resource plan, and schedule.
  • Creates and manages project budgets, including both capital and operating expenses, tracking and reporting variances as appropriate.
  • Leads project team in implementing/applying standard processes for change management, risk management, issue management, quality assurance, and project communications.
  • Manages execution of project schedule, reporting variances and introducing appropriate remediation plans.
  • Facilitates change requests to ensure all parties are informed of impact to schedule and budget.
  • Obtains customer acceptance of project deliverables.
  • Facilitates and develops status reports for project steering committee.
  • Provides timely and accurate status reporting to project stakeholders.
  • Builds and maintains high performance project teams through own actions and direction provided to others.
  • Provides leadership through all phases of the project, motivating the project team to meet project goals.
  • Negotiates with other business groups and external vendors to obtain appropriately skilled human resources for project.
  • Coordinates the development of training materials and other documents needed to enable the successful implementation and turnover of the process / system to end users.

Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science/MIS or at least 8+ years of recent IT project management experience.

Qualifications
  • Experience leading ERP and EDI projects is required.
  • Experience in managing multi-million dollar projects using both internal and external resources.
  • Experience leading infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Must have a proven ability to inspire and coordinate the talents of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Creative approach to problem solving and management of projects.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, influence, negotiation, organization and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management.
  • Advance knowledge of MS office Applications and Project Management tools.
  • Experience using web-based Portfolio and Project Management tools a plus.
