Your Role:
As an Equipment Manufacturing Engineer, you will be working with some of the industry's brightest minds to assist in development of all necessary tooling and equipment require to assemble a complete automobile.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment and fixture design/implementation through the complete life cycle. (RFQ, Purchase Requisition, Concept-Design, Buy-Off and Installation): Material lift Assists, Assembly tables, Chassis Marriage equipment, Glass Urethane Robotic application
- Validation of new equipment and fixtures for introduction to the production floor
- Develop, improve, validate, and implement new manufacturing processes
- Creation of detailed manufacturing instructions to define new processes and document new equipment operation
- Training of technicians and line operators on manufacturing equipment and process
- Specification of hand tools for manual assembly tasks
- Design of production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency
- Perform virtual assessment of product and tooling
- Perform/Support PFMEA, DFMEA
- Lead Powertool implementation and management
- Develop PM and Spare Parts list for tooling and equipment
- Support future design initiative for manufacturability
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field of study
- 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
- Experience in design and development of manufacturing equipment and tools
- CATIA V5/V6 for design and manufacturability analysis
- Experience with AutoCAD and Technical Writing
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Ability to travel up to 30% within and outside the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in automotive manufacturing.
- Detailed Knowledge in Fastening Equipment (DC Tools, Clutch Tools).
Annual Salary Range:
($96k – 119k), plus benefits and incentive plans
