Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL Mission Support to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This DE-1670-02 position is with US ARMY COMBAT CAPABILITIES DEV CMD SOLDIER CENTER SOLDIER PROTECTION DIRECTORATE PROTECTION SYSTEMS DIVISION DISTINCTIVE MATERIAL SOLUTIONS TEAM NATICK, MA.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify at the DE-02/GS-9 equivalent grade level - Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience at the GS-07/DB-01 grade level which includes:1) Demonstrating analytical abilities and skills in executing methods, practices, approaches, and design principles to accomplish objectives. 2) Performing engineering services that develop, support, and facilitate the research, development, and integration and production process. And 3) Presenting findings and results, in writing or orally, for higher-level review or publication.

To Qualify with education: You must have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in related fields (eg; engineering, engineering technician). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
A combination of education and experience as reflected above.
Additional Specialized experience to be considered:
- Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment.
- Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements.
- Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements.
- Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders.
- Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.
- Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.
Education

- Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
- You will be required to undergo a background investigation leading to the successful adjudication of eligibility for Secret security clearance. Derogatory information developed during the background investigation, such as a criminal history or an adverse credit history, could render the selectee ineligible for both the security clearance and continued employment in the position, if already appointed.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Flexible/renewable Term appointment NTE 2 years which may be extended indefinitely in up to 6 year increments and or may be converted to a career/career-conditional appointment later without competition contingent to specific conditions being met.
- FLRTTA appointees are provided with benefits comparable to those provided to permanent employees at the STRL concerned, including professional development opportunities; eligibility for all laboratory awards programs.
