Equity Portfolio Finance Specialist

We are looking for an experienced professional with equity securities finance expertise to support Jane Street's various trading desks. The role is an entrepreneurial one: the remit is broad in terms of touch points across the firm, and we expect the candidate to be able to work seamlessly with our front office as well as our back office. The role offers the opportunity to assist the firm with long-term strategic development in addition to helping our traders with immediate trading decisions. The Specialist will also be expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with our external financing counterparts.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing an interface between Jane Street traders and our external financing counterparties  
• Leveraging subject matter knowledge / external relationships to provide proactive coverage to our traders
• Working with trading desks to structure trades in a financing-efficient manner
• Helping to streamline securities lending and financing processes across the firm
• Assisting in the effort to diversify and optimize Jane Street's borrowing resources by progressing strategic efforts and leveraging street-side relationships
• Understanding changes in the financing market or regulatory landscape that require action and alerting the trading and finance teams
• Working with the broader team to ensure our partnerships with prime brokers and other financing counterparties are optimized in terms of efficiency and bottom line returns

• 5+ years of related finance experience at a sell-side or buy-side firm
• An ability to develop and add to relationships with clearing and financing partners
• Detailed knowledge and experience of US equity finance and stock loan markets
• Knowledge of Special Sits and Corp Action trading
• Self-motivator who can help build a platform capable of supporting our growth
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn and understand new trading strategies
• Able to work well in a team environment
• Various product knowledge a plus (e.g., Options and Futures)
• Python, SQL or other programming skills a plus
• Fluency in English is required
