ERM PROGRAM/REPORTING ANALYST


WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

This position, in the Second Line of Defense (2nd LOD), will be responsible for supporting the development and operation of City National Bank's (CNB's) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program as prescribed by CNB's Management Risk Committee. Position supports the implementation of the Bank's risk objectives, to include assisting with the annual requirement to write the Bank's Risk Management Framework (which serves as the foundation for CNB's approach to risk management), Risk Appetite Framework (which defines the Bank's risk capacity and establishes an appropriate risk appetite), and all supporting policies and procedures.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Supports and leads in the write up of the Bank's risk management policies. Such as Reputational Risk and Heightened Standards.
  • Monitor all audit and regulatory findings, and report any findings not on track in order to ensure zero overdue issues
  • Assists in the annual refresh of both Board and Division-level risk metrics
  • Support horizontal regulatory programs like OCC's Heightened Standards, Resolution and Recovery planning, etc.
  • Assist in training policy, standard and procedure owners/contacts on roles and responsibilities
  • Assists with ongoing oversight of the policy framework inventory database including reporting, maintenance, and enhancements.
  • Analyze trends and inter-relationship between data sets and present findings and recommendations, translate data into actionable presentations and reports
  • Automate recurring reports and drive process improvement using technology to design new reporting solutions and produce relevant dashboards for risk and compliance function in a timely manner
  • Lead the identification and implementation of innovative data analytics opportunities
  • Provide support with database queries and analytics capability to support other risk and compliance activities


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of risk management, finance or audit experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with business intelligence / analytics
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with MS Office


Skills and Knowledge

  • Master's degree highly preferred
  • Relevant experience working in risk management preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, i.e. ability to write technical memoranda and communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Must possess demonstrated ability to think critically and facilitate change through collaborative effort. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to capture and critically evaluate business problems/requirements and translate into working solutions.
  • Innovative thinking skills, strong work ethic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive work style used to consistently communicate project status, issues and completion plans.
  • Ability to define/extract/create queries and analyze data based on a fundamental understanding of process, control and risk in support of the department's data analytics strategy and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge and experience with various reporting and data analysis tools, BI software packages (e.g. Tableau/Micro-Strategy) preferred.
  • Strong expertise utilizing advanced functions in spreadsheet (Excel), database (Access) and data extraction (query) software, Visual Basic (Microsoft Office Macros) a plus.
  • Proficient experience in SharePoint, MS SQL and other technical skills to develop reporting solutions for various audiences.
  • Experience using major GRC software packages (e.g. Archer, OpenPages, MetricStream, ThompsonReuters GRC) a plus.
Compensation
Starting base salary: $90,762 - $114,347 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
