Job Description

Position Summary

As the Multifamily groups expands and further defines its ESG vision and strategy, there is a need for an analyst role who will be exposed to many facets of the multifamily industry and work with all members of team, including senior leaders. This unique and critical position will:

  • Refine, define and aggregate our ESG data (emissions, water, waste, social), track progress toward ESG goals, and support city and state regulatory compliance.
  • Support transformation of the Brookfield Multifamily utilities function, primarily through support of budgeting, reforecasting and employing data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Provide key support to our pathways to Net Zero in support of BAM corporate goals, through data analysis and metric reporting needed for the Net Zero strategy and program.
  • Work on additional ESG-related projects including water, waste and property-specific efficiency work and identify opportunities to innovate and reduce our environmental footprint across the portfolio.

Essential Job Functions

  • DATA and REPORTING: Drive the collection, organization, and analysis of ESG data to meet BAM, MF and external reporting needs. This includes social KPIs, emissions, energy, water, and waste data tracking and reporting. Further, this role will be key to defining our Scope 3 boundaries and data. The role will be responsible for analytical rigor, accuracy and completeness of the data set, performing statistical analyses, predictive modeling and other forms of data analysis. (30%)
  • Under direction of the Manager of utilities, support budgeting of our energy, water and waste budgets including reforecasting and quarterly analyses. Participates in and facilitates root case analysis on variances in utility performance against budget. (30%)
  • Support ESG-related tasks and activities as directed by the Director of ESG. This includes driving operational efficiency measures, measuring results, and contributing to improving our ESG-related auditing and onboarding of acquisitions. (20%)
  • Support MF pathways to NetZero and our Utilities Transformation. Provide ongoing support of both of these major categories of work as the programs mature. Act as a key "utilities and ESG analyst" in support of that function. (20%)

Education

This position requires a(n) Undergraduate Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Mathematics and/or Engineering with some concentration in ESG/Sustainability.

Note: 5 - 7 Years of relative work experience could offset the minimum educational requirements.

Work Experience

3 - 5 Years: Data analysis experience - Required

1 - 3 Years: ESG-related data analysis, reporting and project work - Preferred

1 - 3 Years: Utility data analysis - Preferred
