This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

The ESG Analyst will be an integral part of the global HarbourVest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team and will contribute to our vision of embracing responsible investing through partnering with our stakeholders and our employees. They will be based in Boston and will work closely with our three-person ESG team based across Boston and London, reporting into our ESG team head in London. The Analyst role is focused on data and analytics, and the successful candidate will assume responsibility for improving the quality of our ESG data insights. This is an exciting role with true growth potential as we grow our ESG data analysis capacity, and presents an opportunity to develop project management skills and specialized expertise in ESG data.

Our incoming ESG Analyst will play an integral role in an area of strategic focus for the firm, and will have plenty of opportunities to develop their career at HarbourVest.

What you will do:

• Develop an understanding of our existing ESG-related data projects, assuming responsibility over time
• Maintain the quality of our ESG datasets through consistent maintenance and attention to detail
• Develop research and analysis capabilities, drawing data insights to support our investment and investor relations teams
• Develop strong understanding and skill in working with HarbourVest IT and data programs, growing the ability to determine solutions for the long-term success of our ESG data program
• Work cross-functionally to identify and implement new data tools that support our ESG analysis capabilities over the long-term
• Provide support to our client reporting and presentations, and our ESG-related compliance monitoring and reporting processes
• Support internal reporting and cross-team knowledge of our ESG data and reporting program

What you bring:

• Sophisticated data analysis capabilities with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other software programs
• Strong work ethic, intellectual honesty, and curiosity
• Well-developed communication skills that span written, visual, and verbal
• Foundational understanding of project management and experience working across teams to build new processes and generate engagement

Education Preferred:

• Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or equivalent experience
• Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience

Experience

• 2-4 years of professional work experience in a data capacity preferred
