What Your Job Will Be Like

We are rehiring Walter Nickerson as a Distinguished ESH COordinator to support the ND Rally Cry. He will be working 22 hours per week.

Qualifications We Require

  • Strong background with ESH Performance Assurance including writing and sharing Lessons Learned, causl analysis, measures and metrics, and extent-of-condition reviews.
  • Strong coordination skills for ESH and line partners to enable ESH requirements and attributes to be includes in mission planning and execution.
  • Ability to provide daily ES&H support to multiple orgs with failure analysis tools and enabling safe work practices for personnel.
  • Ability to provide ES&H support for leading self-assessments, PHS/NEPA and Work Planning and Control Reviews for all activity level work to include What-If hazard analysis and safety case package preparation.
  • ES&H experience with hazardous operations and their associated controls/mitigations including: lasers, electrical, chemical, pressure systems, radiological/RGDs, SEMs, biological, field-testing, pulsed power and standard industrial hazards.

Department collects, analyzes, and reports information concerning Sandia's Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H) performance; supports ES&H subject matter experts in transforming regulatory requirements into processes, procedures, and websites; provides ES&H expertise in support of the Contractor Assurance System (CAS); and provides subject matter expertise to include occurrence management, issues management, OSHA measures, and assessments. Services include on-site technical assistance, training, document reviews, audits and assessment, ES&H operating experience/lessons learned, analysis of performance assurance information, and providing results of ad hoc queries of safety incident data.
