ESL Class Facilitator (Per Diem) (Bilingual in Mandarin)- Virtual Senior Center

Job Summary: Prepares and conducts ESL based classes, including coordinating the curriculum, schedule, instruction, supervision, and supplies for classes to give homebound seniors a positive learning experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Teach or facilitate weekly ESL classes to seniors within the senior center and to homebound seniors via video chat at designated times.
• Develop teaching materials, and otherwise prepare class materials.
• Report any participant concerns to Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator.
• Elicit participants' recommendations to improve the class; meet with Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator to determine satisfaction and implementation of new ideas and address any specific needs of students.
• Mediate any disputes that may arise within group, and communicate any needs or complaints of senior citizens to Program Director.
• Gather and encourage VSC members to attend class as needed.
• Meet with Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator to plan and develop programs, and otherwise discuss program ideas, issues, and performances and receive feedback.
• Create, post, and e-mail informational flyers pertaining to classes, as needed.
• Conduct participant satisfaction surveys, analyze, and provide results to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

• At least one year related ESL instruction experience and/or training in related area.
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Able to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail

• Remote/Work from home
