Job Description

Etch Product Systems Engineer is responsible for products from definition to qualification. The primary responsibility of this position is translating customer market specifications into hardware and software specifications, configuration definition, working with cross functional technical discipline to design components, software, and process that meet product performance.

Together with Product Marketing and Process Technology leaders, you give direction to the development of new products or the improvement of current installed base. You lead a team of module systems engineers and module architects to achieve the deliverables. You are responsible for system performance. You align with different module architects and projects to manage interfaces between key projects.

Your tasks and responsibilities include the following:
• Scope management: define program scope using trade off analysis between time to market, development effort, costs, and performance impact.
• Technical risk analysis and management: lead technical cross functional team to define and resolve risks identified as part of failure mode effect analysis.
• Cross functional team leadership:

o Inspire the team and make sure relevant technical expertise across Applied Materials are engaged.

o Interact with Product Marketing and Account teams to select and define improvements of products beneficial to customer.
• Hands on Systems Operations: intimately know all steps of product operation from start up to calibrations, process sequences & recipes, and even metrology used to measure system performance.
• Innovation & Problem Solving:

o Analyze system performance data, clearly define problem statement definition.

o Define & conduct multivariable experiments to characterize system behavior and quantify product operation window and sensitivities with temperature, pressure, power, flow, timing control.

o Come up with proposals for product definition which cover a wide variety of solutions concerning process, hardware, and software. T

o Present proposals balanced across all the different business drivers: safety, technical performance, productivity, availability, factory cycle time and cost.

Qualifications
• Three to five years' experience in Semiconductor industry
• Experience operating Semiconductor Equipment or aptitude to learn
• Some understanding of software and controls systems
• Data Analysis skills using MATLAB, JMP, Python, etc
• Outstanding written and verbal communication to influence range of stakeholders
• Education: Bachelors' Degree and higher in an Engineering Discipline
