Purpose:
This ETL Developer will be responsible for providing technical solutions for purposes of analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and implementing changes to the Actuarial Reporting Application and automated control framework processes.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cross collaboration and problem solving utilizing mathematical and technological capabilities. Ideal candidates should have the desire and ability to understand the underlying mechanics and processes associated with Actuarial Financial Reporting of annuities.

Accountabilities:
- Enhance and maintain actuarial system reporting processes by translating end user requests into MG-ALFA, Integrate, Python, Power BI, and Azure Data Flows system design, data flow, and logic. Through various technologies, develop automated solutions for purposes of enhancing the end-to-end data flows, building inputs and outputs, and enhancing controls. Utilize annuity and reporting subject matter expertise in all facets while ensuring best practices and standards and adherence to project schedules are met.
- Develop sophisticated testing tools and dashboards utilizing mathematical and coding expertise to verify the accuracy of actuarial reporting inputs and outputs and enhance reporting analysis capabilities across various downstream reporting users including applications to support new business onboarding, regulatory updates, and actuarial analysis.
- Develop custom scripts and applications, test applications, and perform routine maintenance. Create detailed test cases and document all programming and systems changes to include flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and revision dates.
- Ability to collaborate with the scrum team members from various areas of the organization to deliver value. Collaboration with Developers, Systems Analysts, and Quality Assurance to develop a test strategy and test cases. Collaboration with Actuarial and Information Technology areas as it relates to system enhancement requirements and process flow charting.
- Ability to interact with and understand database structure, query building experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues as they arise. Communicate effectively with various teams, 3rd party vendors and team members to accurately and efficiently resolve issues.
- Annuity product experience is preferred. Position will require the ability to develop a strong understanding of Annuity products and actuarial reporting processes. Preferable candidates have experience in Financial Services or Insurance industry on applications, systems or processes relating to Financial Reporting, Actuarial, Annuity Policy Administration, etc.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Office experience required
- Experience using JAVA, SQL, PostgreSQL, C++, Python, XML, Visual Basic, PowerBI, Azure Data Flows, or equivalent programming language preferred
- Strong analytical skills and strong math proficiency required.
- Understanding of Project Management, Agile Project Development, Iterative Development, SDLC processes strongly preferred.
- FLMI preferred.
