Event Manager
Job Description
Diversified Communications (www.divcom.com) is seeking an Event Manager to join our growing company! The Event Manager will be a key member of the Intersolar and Smart Energy Decisions event team. This position has responsibility to lead and manage all show management areas of the trade show floor, provide planning and strategic direction on conference programming, and oversee execution of special events. You will collaborate with the Event Director to develop strategies, initiatives, and programs to enhance the exhibitor and attendee experience, while developing new revenue opportunities and will liaise with internal departments to manage sponsorship development and requirements.
Key Areas of Responsibilities will include:
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to identify strategies to drive revenue growth against the special events, tradeshow floors and one-to-one meetings.
- Manage the fulfillment of onsite sponsorship programs, working closely with sales, operations, customer service, conferences, and marketing.
- Oversee KPI's as they relate to event performance, working closely with sales and marketing to ensure they are achieved.
- Build strategic production schedule for conference program & event development in collaboration with sales and marketing teams.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to generate ideas and insights, select attendees' training needs and programming ideas.
- Recommend innovative opportunities and efficiencies to expand the conference offerings and grow conference revenue.
- Serve as liaison between marketing, operations, conference and sales ensuring expectations and experience are met for all customers.
- Collaborate with the Event Director in identifying new initiatives and opportunities and implementing special programs or projects as needed.
- Manage portions of the event budget.
- Collaborates on breakout/layout of session space at venue
- Represent the clean energy portfolio at competitive and partner events.
- Collaborate with the Event Director on strategic direction and business plans for Intersolar and Smart Energy Decisions.
- Help ensure all elements of the business align with strategy set by the Event Director.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of related experience. Strong project management skills and attention to detail are requirements. Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, writing, presentation, leadership, networking, and financial management skills. Experience in managing key business partnerships, including developing and executing new product launches. Have demonstrate knowledge of and/or ability to learn with CRM, floorplan management and budget forecasting software platforms.

Frequent travel will be required in this role!
