Event & Marketing Coordinator

Central Penn Journal/Lehigh Valley Business, a BridgeTower Media Company, has an opening for an experienced Events and Marketing Coordinator to plan, market and execute all aspects of our online, in-person and thought leadership events.

The role works closely with the group publisher, sales team, special product editor and the digital editor along with production, event facility, catering, and registration vendors.


What skills does the job require?

  • 2+ years of event planning and/ or marketing experience
  • Self-motivated, has great attention to detail, strong time management skills, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong writing, communication and customer service skills preferred
  • Strong computer skills in particular Excel, Database Management, ticketing and event management systems, Word.
  • Experience with social media marketing and email marketing.
  • Knowledge of print and digital ad design
  • Problem solving skills along with creativity is very important
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Works well within a team environment
  • WordPress knowledge is a plus
  • Ability to work early morning or evenings on event day
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs
  • 4-year degree preferred

What will you be Responsible for?

  • Promote event nominations and registration through various print and online products
  • Work closely with existing, in addition to developing new partnerships with chambers and associations
  • Utilize social media to bring awareness to our brand events and panel discussions
  • Work closely with nominees, sponsors, and internal staff to collect all necessary materials for each event
  • Create, schedule, and submit print and digital ads through our online portal 
  • Review nominations and applications for accuracy and eligibility 
  • Coordinate promotion with our editorial team
  • Planning, coordinating, setup, and day of duties for all in person events
  • Work on post-event communications with honorees and sponsors
  • Maintain and update our events page using WordPress
  • Support various aspects of all of our events under the guidance of the event manager
