Event Set-Up Staff
Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
It is the primary responsibility of the Event Attendant to perform event decor installation and tear down tasks and ensure that events are completed efficiently, safely and meet company standards.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Perform event-related installation tasks including pulling inventory, loading/unloading, delivery and on-site set-up
- Perform event-related tear down tasks including on-site disassembly of props, florals, linen and decor, loading/unloading, return and restocking
- Lead crews and outside labor for installation and tear downs on smaller scale events
- Operate company trucks, vans and lifts, notify management of gas and maintenance needs
- Adhere to safety, security and property dock/loading procedures and policies
- Ensure that venues/MREP studio is clean and orderly, tools are maintained and equipment is properly stored after use. Report loss, theft, or damage.
- Properly pack, unpack and check goods against orders and handle inventory to protect against damage
- Accurately read and complete all required paperwork
- Create a SHOW Service work environment promoting creativity, collaboration, teamwork, recognition, mutual respect • Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION:
- None
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
PREFERRED:
- At least 1 year experience in events, warehouse, furniture and/or general labor
- At least 1 year of supervisory, lead or equivalent work experience
- Scissors lift and fork lift certification
- Previous experience working in a similar setting
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Have or be able to obtain a valid Nevada driver's license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic knowledge of event installation, rigging, and mechanical procedures
- Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools and equipment
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Ability to work efficiently in a high volume production environment
- Ability to drive vans, 24' box trucks, stake bed trucks, and operate forklift, scissors lift, and cherry pickers
- Ability to lift items, push and pull carts, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; process oriented with attention to detail and quality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
