ABOUT THE ROLE 

A-LIGN is seeking an enthusiastic entry-level event professional to support all aspects of our internal & external events. This role will be responsible for coordinating events with multiple internal stakeholders while being responsible for co-managing budgets, timelines, logistics, and on-site execution.  

The Event Specialist is, above all, a project manager and events coordinator who understands the importance of events for lead generation, brand awareness and employee retention. The specialist should consistently be open to and enthusiastically seeking fresh ideas for future events. Strong organizational skills are required and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects and/or simultaneous events with minimal supervision. 

The position is based in Tampa, FL and will report to the Senior Conference & Events Manager. As a candidate, you will have a strong interest in event management and marketing, as well as a desire for frequent travel. You will be able to work remotely but will be required to come into the downtown Tampa office and travel to events when needed.  

REPORTS TO: Senior Conference & Events Manager 

PAY CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt 

RESPONSIBLITIES 

  • Plan, execute & support the production of A-LIGN events including tradeshows/conferences, employee events, virtual events, happy hours, dinners, and other ancillary events 
  • Execute A-LIGN’s presence at tradeshows/conferences, both virtually and in person, by managing staff, booth space and helping meet lead goals
  • Manage logistics for assigned events from conception to completion 
  • Track event budgets, expenses, KPIs, and ROI on assigned events 
  • Collaborate with marketing and other internal & external partners including agencies, hotels, AV companies, etc. 
  • Assist with the production and execution of promotional items for events and other corporate needs 
  • Other administrative responsibilities to include shipping/receiving, inventory management, registration/list management, employee communications, etc.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, marketing, business, or other relevant field 

EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of experience in event management and/or tradeshow management. Lead generation event or field marketing experience a plus. 

SKILLS

  • Ability to manage a variety of projects and deadlines while maintaining a high-level of attention to detail 
  • A self-starter with a positive, solution-oriented attitude 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • Ability to work individually as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment 
  • Capable of managing both time and event budgets effectively  
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% and work a flexible schedule as needed (evenings/weekends)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
