Role Overview:
As a member of the engine team, the Events Associate (Level 1) supports the Event Manager in the logistical management and execution of the corporate events hosted at our facility. The Events Associate (Level 1) helps prepare the venue, sets up and takes down room configurations, sets up and takes down food and beverage stations, responds to AV/tech issues during meetings, and performs other administrative tasks needed to maintain the professional and welcoming environment of the engine.
**This position will be part-time (< 25 hours/wk) and will require flexibility in scheduling**

The Events Associate (Level 1) helps prepare the venue, sets up and takes down room configurations, sets up and takes down food and beverage stations, responds to AV/tech issues during meetings, and performs other administrative tasks needed to maintain the professional and welcoming environment of the engine.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with Event Manager on weekly event schedule and meeting needs
- Setting up and taking down food and beverage stations, event chairs and tables, and room supplies, including office supplies, flip charts, podiums, etc.
- Moving configurable walls based on meeting setup requirements
- Resolving technical issues with AV or media components during events
- Facilitating the proper organization and cleanliness of venues
- Upholding any necessary safety precautions
- Providing high levels of customer service
- Welcoming guests to the venue, taking coats, and/or providing relevant information as needed
- Serving food and drinks to attendees as needed
- Completing various administrative tasks as assigned by the event manager
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- High energy and stamina
- Ability to perform well under pressure with the ability to efficiently multitask
- 2-3 years event or hospitality industry experience appreciated but not required
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 30 pounds as required
- Moving tables, chairs, and podiums around the facility
- Standing or moving around for extended periods of time
- Being available during and outside of business hours to support events
