Job Description

York Builders Association is looking to add an Event Coordinator to their staff.
Position Objective:
Manages the YBA’s public and member events through overseeing the coordination and administration. Works in conjunction with the Director of Marketing coordinating the YBA’s internal and external communications intended to keep members and the public informed about YBA initiatives in coordination with the YBA brand and image.

Employees in this role are responsible for the following essential functions:

  1. Assists the EVP with daily operations of the YBA.
  2. Develops and follows guidelines regarding consumer complaints, concerns, and referral processes.
  3. Management of processes and procedures for the YBA, events, and member services.
  4. Plan the delivery of the overall events and their activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization.

      3. PEAK Achievement Awards
      4. Parade of Homes
      5. Construction Expo
  5. Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of such events.
  6. Develop the annual events budgets along with an operating plan to support the programs and achieve strategic plan objectives to ensure that YBA reaches its target audiences while preventing budget overruns and identifying cost savings wherever possible.
  7. Manages event information and billing in the York Builders Association’s database, MemberZone.
  8. Develop and obtain sponsorships opportunities for the events.
  9. Act as YBA staff liaison and provide support to select YBA committees.

  10. Perform any other duties as directed by the Executive Vice President.

  18. Make Decisions: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
  19. Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.
  20. Plan: Determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create, and implement action plans, and evaluate the process and results.
  21. Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.


To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
  • Must be proficient with the entire Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
