Events Industry Diversity Internship Program
Job Description
As a part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our industry and communities, Diversified Communications is seeking an undergrad or graduate student from a historically underrepresented group to apply to our Events Industry Diversity Internship Program. This program seeks to identify, develop, and grow our population of employees with lived experiences in historically non-dominant groups including minoritized racial and ethnic communities, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those with disabilities, who are seeking a career in event and exhibition management, business, marketing/communications, IT, content development/journalism, or related fields.
This is a summer internship program based in our Portland, Maine headquarters. You'll be challenged with meaningful work and will be responsible for meeting deadlines, producing results, and contributing to business operations. To cap off your experience, you'll have the opportunity to attend and work at an event with the team.
We have several roles available in the areas of Marketing, Information Technology, the Project Management Office, Quality Assurance, and Web Development. If your degree program and/or area of experience and interest is in one of these areas, we encourage you to apply.
Successful candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills to plan workflow, handle overlapping activities, and meet established deadlines., and excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Above all, we are seeking individuals who are curious and passionate about advancing their career within the exhibition and event industry!
What happens when the program ends? We've been very successful at hiring and retaining past interns, and typically have opportunities available for early career professionals in marketing, event operations, sales, IT, or content creation.
Other Important Specifics: This is a paid internship opportunity. We are flexible on the days/hours requirement and seek candidates who can work 3-4 days per week for at least 24 hours/week. Some travel may be required!
