Established in 1949, we are headquartered in Portland, Maine with divisions and offices around the world and remains a privately held, family-owned business employing 500+ professionals around the world.

Diversified Communications is a safe, inclusive workplace for people from all backgrounds and communities. As a part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our industry and communities, we strongly encourage you to apply if you are from an underrecognized group. We strive to develop and grow our population of employees with lived experiences in historically non-dominant groups including minoritized racial and ethnic communities, the LGBTQIA+ community, and those with disabilities, who are seeking a career in event and exhibition management, business, marketing or communications, IT, content development or journalism, and related fields.

About the Program: This is a summer internship program based in our Portland, Maine headquarters. You'll be challenged with meaningful work and will be responsible for meeting deadlines, producing results, and contributing to business operations. We have several roles available in the areas of Marketing, Information Technology, the Project Management Office, Quality Assurance, and Web Development. If your degree program and/or area of experience and interest is in one of these areas, we encourage you to apply.

Successful candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills to plan workflow, handle overlapping activities, meet established deadlines, excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Above all, we are seeking individuals who are curious and passionate about advancing their career within the exhibition and event industry!

What happens when the program ends?

We've been very successful at hiring and retaining past interns, and typically have opportunities available for early career professionals in marketing, event operations, sales, IT, or content creation.

Other Important Specifics:

This is a paid internship opportunity. We are flexible on the days/hours requirement and seek candidates who can work 3-4 days per week for at least 24 hours/week. Some travel may be required!

Applications are due by May 3, 2024. We would like to have our roles filled and on board by early June 2024.
