Description
We are growing and looking to add an entry-level Event Specialist to our team. Franklin Electric is seeking an individual that is detail oriented, with strong organizational skills, and can work well with a team, but also independently manage their own projects. This role will support the Global Events Manager with executing trade shows and events all over the world.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with internal and external event coordination, from planning to execution.
- Collaborates with Franklin marketing teams and outside vendors to ensure efficient and timely execution of all aspects of tradeshows.
- Collaborates with Franklin marketing and design teams to establish appropriate tradeshow booth layout and design within budget and venue limitations.
- Administrative support for the department: organizing and preparing agendas, materials, and follow-up notes for meetings, facilitating payment to vendors as well as and submitting and approving literature orders.
- Submitting expense reports in a timely fashion
- Organize and maintain inventory of product and event supplies.
- Maintain event spreadsheets and resource documents - i.e. files of sites, hotels, meeting rooms, and associated vendors.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Key Responsibilities
Skills and Abilities
- 1 year of general business and administrative experience is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills with the ability to effectively execute independently toward multiple, high-priority projects in a timely fashion.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to confidently work with all levels of colleagues, consultants, managing directors, senior management, vendors, etc.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Works cooperatively with other team members.
- Utilizes common-sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
- Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Writes routine reports and correspondence.
- Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
- Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
- Ability to travel as needed to events. Up to 20% Travel
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business communications, hospitality, or a related field (required).
- One to three years of relevant experience in marketing, event planning, or a related field (preferred).
Computer Skills
- Intermediate: Word processing/typing, presentation/PowerPoint, database.
- Basic: Alphanumeric data entry, spreadsheet
