Department Overview

The Motorola Solutions Customer Experiences and Events team is responsible for ideation, plan development and activation of proprietary and one-of-a-kind internal and external events within North America.
The team consists of event and trade show marketing professionals who regularly collaborate across various functional teams (marketing, product groups, sales professionals, leadership and more) helping to bring strategy to life.
This team is part of the Marketing organization.
Job Description

Motorola Solutions is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented, and driven Events Team Administrator to support our event planning team in various tasks to assist in the delivery of successful events. 

The event team is responsible for project managing events and programs of all types and varying sizes, including presence at exhibitions and trade shows, hosted conferences (e.g. sales kick-offs, partner conferences and roadshows), as well as networking and hospitality events to support Motorola Solutions’ goals and objectives.

This role works out of our Chicago office with 2-3 remote days per week possible. This may fluctuate to more or less remote days per week, based on the events schedule and as directed by management.

The Event Administrator is responsible for but not limited to the following: 

  • Support a team of 9 planners with various event-related tasks

  • Proofread materials

  • Create and crosscheck reports

  • Support event technology to include, but not limited to: building basic registration sites, proofing, testing, reporting, attendee management

  • Maintain internal event sites

  • Function as a liaison between the events team and the MSI Foundation

  • Order materials

  • Storage room maintenance

  • Inbound/outbound event shipping

  • Additional tasks as directed by management

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing work environment

  • Ability to multitask

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-starter who quickly and proactively solves challenges with minimum guidance and direction

  • Ability to display a sense or urgency, ownership and accountability

  • Thrives in fast-paced work environment

  • Experience in customer-facing work environment required

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  • Desire to grow in the event industry

  • Ability to travel, including on weekends, as needed, for onsite event operation (minimal, less than 4 times/year)

    • Ability to meet physical requirements (travel, walking, lifting, long days/hours) while at onsite operation
