Job Overview

The EVS (Environmental Services) Placement Coordinator is skilled professional functioning within the DCARE Command Center. The EVS Placement Coordinator plays a pivotal role to decrease hospital throughput barriers via expediting and prioritizing bed cleaning and internal transports request.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Direct and assign EVS and internal Transport staff to highest priority requests.
• Utilize EPIC to assign and monitor bed cleaning and internal transport requests across multiple campuses.
• Collaborate with D-Care Command Center, EVS and Transport operations to identify process improvement strategies, trend delays, support quality initiatives and enhance patient safety.
• Develop strategies to manage surge in bed cleaning and internal transport requests.
• Promptly answers all incoming calls and requests.
• Relays updates on bed cleaning or internal transports to patient placement, campus leadership, transfer team and bed assignment.
• Initiates chain of command in notification of escalations.
• Uses empathetic and reflective listening skills to de-escalate and manage high stress phone calls from physicians and hospital staff.
• Delivers excellent customer service fulfilling our mission. Pleasant tone of voice, friendly and helpful attitude, keeps conversation focused on customer. Handles calls and issues promptly and efficiently. Identifies opportunities for improvement and expansion of new customer relationships.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Preferred previous experience with hospital operation or logistics coordination.
