PRIMARY PURPOSE:

An Executive Meetings Service Manager is the key point of contact for smaller convention groups. This position is responsible for obtaining rooming lists, transportation, meeting room coordination and coordinating with billing and credit. The goal is to create a great experience for our convention attendees.

THE JOB:

  • Coordinates all aspects of convention, including but not limited to food and beverage, meetings, transportation, rooms, pre-planning, pre-payments, credit applications, limousines, amenities, site inspections, etc.
  • Coordinates the catering and meeting room set up with the client and communicates the information to all departments internally through Banquet Event Orders.
  • Attends all pre-planning, pre-convention and post-convention meetings for assigned groups.
  • On site liaison between client and hotel.
  • Assigns and coordinates meeting space based on clients program and meeting space needs.
  • Handles customer complaints with the intent of resolving situations to the satisfaction of all parties.
  • Maintains good working rapport the hotel department heads.
  • Maintains good working relationships with local DMCs, ground handlers, meeting planners, decorators and LVCVA personnel.
  • Assists with any billing discrepancies with the intent of resolving to the satisfaction of all parties.

A GREAT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • At least 2 Years previous experience in Convention Services/ Catering and/or Hotel Operations.
  • Ability to access all areas of the facility and travel off property.
  • Ability to project authority with general knowledge of hotel operations and food and beverage preparation.
  • Ability to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, and other cast members while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail.
  • Handle non-routine, sometimes stressful situations.
  • Perception and awareness of individual needs and the ability to handle all situations calmly and professionally
  • Excellent customer services skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or their equivalents.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral form.
