Cockroach Labs is growing quickly, and we're looking for an experienced Executive Administrative Partner to join our Workplace Experience team.Â
About the RoleAs the Executive Administrative Partner, you are the backbone of the company’s business operations and activities. You will anticipate the needs of your executives and help increase efficiency by resolving operational and administrative issues before they arise. In addition to being organized and analytical, you possess the strong business judgment and communication skills needed to interact with a variety of people and job functions both internally and externally.Â
You must be based in New York and willing to come into the Cockroach Labs office a minimum of 2 days per week (Tues/Thurs) to qualify for this position.
You Will- Perform an extensive array of administrative tasks (calendar, travel and expense reimbursement management) for senior level executives. However, you may be asked to support ad-hoc projects for their respective department teams.
- Coordinate events, off-sites, conference speaking engagements, and candidate scheduling, as well as any associated travel itineraries, including accommodations and venue reservations.
- Handle requests and inquiries quickly and ensure that appropriate parties are looped in;Â identifying any process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Prepare materials for internal and external meetings and events by streamlining communications to their intended audiences.
- Provide backup administrative support for other members of the team during absences, holidays, etc.
In your first 30 days, you will work closely with our CPO (Chief Product Officer) and CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) to better understand their scheduling needs. You will familiarize yourself with their preferred mode of engagement and optimize their schedules to remain efficient with internal and external obligations. During this time, you will also be learning about Cockroach Labs culture and how to navigate the organization. You will work closely with the Business Administration Team to help shape the function’s best practices and standards.
After 30 days, you will have built connections within the executive team. You will be available for light, ad-hoc scheduling as needed. During your second month, you will better understand specific departmental initiatives and goals, build relationships with core team members, and how you can proactively support your executives’ efforts throughout the year.Â
After 90 days, you will be fully integrated onto the Cockroach Labs team and have built a trusted relationship with your executives, beginning to act as a thought partner, anticipating needs and guiding them towards making decisions on how to best utilize their time.Â
You Have- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of providing executive support.
- A resourceful and intuitive approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to organize projects and multi-task responsibilities, working independently and across a diverse range of people and job functions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to various working styles.
- The expectation of complete confidentiality on all business matters.
- The ability to be a team player and pitch in to help team members meet deadlines; comfortable in a fast-paced environment with constant changes.
- Confident with a positive and friendly demeanor and/or customer service experience.
As part of the People team division, you will work within the Workplace Experience and Operations team. The Workplace Experience team is responsible for workplace operations, facilities, workplace experience and building the company’s culture.
Reporting to Amy Kim - Manager, Workplaces and Executive PartnershipAmy manages our workplace strategy and partners with teams across the business to ensure our operations run smoothly. A seasoned Executive Assistant with over 10+ years of experience across various industries, Amy knows the importance of finding the right partnership between assistants and executives. In any free time she gets, you can find her playing soccer with her two young kids in Brooklyn.
Supporting Nate Stewart - Chief Product OfficerNate is responsible for the overall product strategy and the activities we take to guide Cockroach Labs to product-market-fit. As a former engineer, Nate has seen how the challenges of working with data in unreliable, distributed environments often distract developers from building great things. Nate joined Cockroach Labs to help companies avoid that pain once and for all. When he’s not at work, Nate can be found spending time with his family, reading a book from his Goodreads queue, or trying to remove the rust from his tennis game.
Supporting Peter Guagenti - Chief Marketing OfficerBorn and raised in New York, Peter has spent the last 20+ years in the Bay Area and has spent his entire adult life working in technology. He started as a founder of his own digital agency in the mid-90's, progressing to senior roles in consulting and agencies, before moving on to help build multiple successful open source enterprise software companies. Peter and his team understand and value the impact design, and have witnessed how great brands can help create great companies. He is passionate about building businesses, helping others create amazing things with technology, and having whatever positive impact he can on the world.Â
When he is not at work, you can usually find him out hiking with his two daughters, or traveling the world with his partner. He is also a car nut and avid racer and has competed in and won numerous road racing and rallying events across North America.

The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $90,000 to $120,000, plus commission if a sales role. We set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location.  Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies. In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. Salary is one component of the Cockroach Labs’ total rewards package, which includes stock options, health insurance, life and disability insurance, funds towards professional development resources, flexible PTO, paid holidays, and parental leave, to name a few! Salaries for candidates outside the U.S. will vary based on local compensation structures.
