Company Overview
Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief of Staff (CoS) for the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this role will support the CTO, Chief of Staff, and all directors in the Technology Development organization. The Executive Assistant will be the right-hand person to the Chief of Staff and inevitably the CTO. The EA will ensure optimal productivity and effectiveness in a fast-paced, demanding start up environment. This role requires proactivity, calendar management, organizational skills, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple high priority requests, while interfacing professionally with people inside and outside the company. This role will also support the larger Kairos Power executive team in coordination and communication of Technology Development initiatives and progress.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex calendars to support the technology development teams in multiple locations and time zones
- Use past experience to identify effective time/task management and scheduling solutions to increase productivity
- Organize, prioritize, and appropriately handle time-sensitive, confidential information and ensure any action/attention required is addressed
- Meeting management: scheduling, drafting agendas, preparing attendees, taking meeting minutes, sending recaps and action items, and scheduling follow up meetings
- Conserve executives’ time by anticipating needs; screening/filtering emails; reading, researching, and routing correspondence; collecting and analyzing information; and troubleshooting when needed
- Manage expense reports and be able to efficiently coordinate domestic and international travel on an as-requested basis
- Works with administrative and HR teams to ensure continuity between Alameda, Albuquerque, and Charlotte office
- Take initiative and offer assistance where needed; adding value whenever possible
- Serve as a point of contact for coordination and select topics with important stakeholders external to the company
- Exercise discretion in handling confidential, proprietary, privileged, and/or security-related information
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar role, with direct support for VP level and above
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Preferred experience with Nuclear technology but not required
- Exceptional communication skills both written, oral, and via presentation format
- Experience collaborating with team members from different backgrounds and communication styles, and an appreciation for the challenges of supporting a diverse, growing global team
- Willingness to work outside of standard position responsibilities
- An infectious “can do” attitude and enthusiasm/excitement to help change the world
- A natural bias for action, comfortable delivering on commitments and holding him/herself and team accountable; a respectful individual that embraces challenges with an unwavering focus on driving results and meeting milestones
- Must have expert proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent references from prior similar roles
Physical Conditions
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Adjusting, moving, transporting, installing, positioning, or removing objects up to 20Â pounds in all directions
- Communicating with others to exchange information

- Occasional travel to other office locations Albuquerque, NM; Oak Ridge, TN) including occasional visits to field sites and laboratory/testing facilities

Additional Requirements
- This is a full-time onsite position
- Occasionally requires overtime and/or weekends
- Occasionally requires schedule flexibility
- Occasionally requires extended hours to support launch and critical project timelines
The salary range for this position is $89,800 to $105,700 for employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, the market data for your work location, and a comparison to other employees already in the role.
