Job Description
Mill is all about answering a simple question: how can we prevent waste? Less waste can save time, money, energy, maybe even our planet. And there’s no better place to start than food. Food waste is one of the most solvable climate problems facing us today. Plus, our trash really stinks. It’s gross, heavy, and our least favorite chore. At Mill we are striving to build a better environment for all, as we take on climate and kitchen change.
Mill is seeking an Executive Assistant to partner with and support our leadership team. You’ll lead the work to organize and run the day-to-day schedules and priorities of the leadership team.Â
The successful Executive Assistant will:
- Manage and maintain leadership priorities, ensuring time is used effectively and in line with company priorities. This includes scheduling meetings, and also saying no as needed.Â
- Strategically partner with members of the leadership team to support their cross-functional needs.
- Design and organize tracking for action items and prioritize follow up actions from meetingsÂ
- Plan leadership company travel and coordinate with other support staff as needed
- Maintain a good-judgment-required balance between transparency and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters while getting what needs to be done, done.Â
This is a dynamic role that requires a flexible candidate, willing to do what it takes to move the work at Mill forward. As with any startup a strategic mind that can structure unstructured challenges, and a willingness to roll one’s sleeves up are critical.Â
Ideally, candidates will have a background that includes:
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience at a startup or an investment firm supporting an executive in a similar hybrid role
- Experience as a research associate, business analyst, chief of staff or assistantÂ
- A demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed fashion in an ambiguous and fast-paced work environment
- Humility, team-player, and a hunger to learn and build and work with mission-oriented entrepreneursÂ
- Strong organizational skills, comfort with on-the-job problem solving and upward management
The estimated base salary range for this position is $125k to $160k, which does not include the value of benefits or a potential equity grant. A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, market conditions, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs. At Mill, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
