Job description

SHR Talent is representing a healthcare client in their search for an Executive Chef for their Medical facility in Plano, TX. The Executive Chef is a 1099 contract opportunity with an onsite schedule based in Plano, TX with an expected duration of 9 months, with opportunity for extension and conversion to full time. The Executive Chef will oversee daily food production and service operations, including patient meal service, physician dining, cafeteria, and catering. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards while maintaining strong financial controls and leading a team with a focus on service excellence. Responsibilities: • Direct and manage all food service operations across patient, physician, cafeteria, and catering functions • Develop menus that meet nutritional guidelines in collaboration with clinical staff • Ensure compliance with HACCP, sanitation, and regulatory requirements, serving as liaison during inspections • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and cost controls to meet financial goals • Conduct regular rounds in service areas, engaging with patients, staff, and physicians • Manage employee scheduling, attendance, and productivity standards • Hire, train, coach, and develop staff, ensuring certifications and performance standards are maintained • Support staff education and serve as a preceptor for culinary and dietetic students • Participate in leadership development initiatives, committees, and community events Qualifications: • Culinary degree from an accredited program, required • 3+ years of professional culinary leadership experience • Healthcare experience, preferred • State-specific Food Service Manager certification, required • American Culinary Federation (ACF) certification, preferred or required within 18 months • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, budgeting, sanitation, and cost controls • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Bilingual, a plus#IND123
