Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Executive Chef to lead the culinary program for a soon-to-launch rooftop venue in the heart of downtown Chicago. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in high-volume, high-visibility environments and is passionate about driving excellence across food, people, and operations. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee all BOH operations, including food quality, execution, cleanliness, and team culture • Lead seasonal menu development, kitchen systems, and cost controls • Hire, train, and mentor a strong culinary team, including sous chefs and line staff • Partner with FOH and events teams to execute private dining, large-format events, and daily service • Maintain food and labor cost goals; work closely with leadership to ensure P&L alignment • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times Qualifications: • 5+ years of Executive Chef or CDC-level experience in high-volume, chef-driven concepts • Proven track record of kitchen leadership, team development, and P&L oversight • Deep understanding of seasonal cooking, kitchen systems, and modern operational tools • Experience with rooftop or large-scale venues a strong plus • Calm under pressure, solution-oriented, and committed to a positive kitchen culture What We Offer: • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus structure • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, PTO) • Creative freedom within a supportive leadership team • Long-term growth opportunity in a respected restaurant group Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: • Dental insurance • Flexible schedule • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
