RESPONSIBILITIES
- EXTERNAL REPORTING - Lead the external reporting function and administer the external reporting process
- Assist with preparing and overseeing the filing of the Company's external financial reports, including all 10-Q's, 10-K's and certain 8-K's filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC").
- Perform general review of all filings and supporting documentation, including XBRL, to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with facilitation of Management's review process associated with the Company's external financial reports, including leading the Disclosure Committee meetings.
- Work in close cooperation with Legal and HR to prepare and file the Company's annual proxy statement.
- Support the Investor Relations function and ensure the accuracy of press releases, investor presentations and other materials that will be shared publicly, including preparation/review of press release exhibits and supporting schedules.
- Supervise, support and develop the Finance Manager (External Reporting Manager), Finance Senior Analyst (External Reporting Senior) and Finance Analyst (External Reporting Staff).
- Review of limited number of required journal entries (prepared by Finance Senior Analyst and/or Finance Manager).
- Review of limited number of account reconciliations.
- ACCOUNTING RESEARCH
- Monitor emerging accounting issues and new pronouncements to ensure that the Company's financial statements are presented in accordance with GAAP or IFRS, as required.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards including analyzing, researching and documenting critical and complex accounting and reporting issues faced by the Company.
- Research transactions in the general ledger to validate proper accounting.
- Generate reports out of the consolidation and reporting tools to support accounting research or special projects.
- AUDIT LIAISON - Serve as a liaison to our external auditors working closely with the Company's external auditors to coordinate the Company's quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- LEADERSHIP - Foster and build teamwork between the finance, accounting and operating functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- DEGREE - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Masters a plus.
- PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - CPA required
- WORK EXPERIENCE - Previous experience in External Reporting leadership position or 8+ years of Big 4 audit experience, including 5+ years serving SEC clients; Preparation of quarterly and annual filings on behalf of an SEC registrant a plus.
- TECHNICAL SKILLS :
- Strong analytical skills with a great attention to detail;
- Strong accounting research skills;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products;
- Experience with Essbase/SmartView reporting tools or Oracle Cloud a plus;
- Proficient with Workiva WDesk a plus.
- The External Reporting leader will act as the internal administrator of the cloud-based WDesk SEC filing tool (along with the Manager of External Reporting).
- MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE - Experience managing a team, a team engaged in external financial reporting a plus.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS - Very strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with senior management on a regular basis.
