Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Leads a team of local, international and global HRBPs and TA's to build a high-performing organization aligned with the strategic leadership agenda
- Awareness and understanding of the most important business and HR metrics in order to translate the business plan into talent and organization planning, and coach the HR organization. eg. Sales revenue, customer acquisition costs, customer churn, customer engagement, customer satisfaction, P&L, other KPI's
- Builds relationships with VP and senior level clients. Is a trusted and credible partner who anticipates needs and proactively recommends solutions.
- Serves as an active member of the leadership team in assigned business/function and is able to influence and challenge others at this level
- Translates the business plan into talent and organizational plan, contributes to the People Strategy for assigned business to include: organizational re-design, strategic workforce planning, total rewards solutions, succession planning and talent management, organizational development and employee engagement of workforce.
- Drive and facilitate cultural and organizational development initiatives that foster a positive and high-performance culture
- Partners with and influences HR Centers of Excellence and HR Service Center to ensure the business is receiving optimal service and value added programs that are aligned with business strategy.
- Provide oversight to escalated employee and/or labor relations matters.
- Understands fully the context of HR analytics and has the experience and competence to understand when the parameters may need to be altered when interpreting insight from the data. For example, when determining if the organization on the whole has an employee engagement issue, they can interrogate and interpret various data sources, across a broader time frame, whilst considering geographic idiosyncrasies to reach a well-informed conclusion.
Key Performance Measures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field AND 7+ years of work experience with Human Resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management) involving applicable employment laws and policies
- Human Resources Professional Certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM)
- Strong Microsoft skills (PPT, Excel, Word)
Experience
- A progressive HR career with deep experience across a combination of generalist and specialist activities sustained over multiple varied assignments.
- A minimum of 6 years HR management and leadership experience through progressive assignments including the management and development of small teams.
- Remote site management experience preferably within an international context
- Strong analytics and use of data to drive decisions
- Exposure to organization design and development activities with practical experiences of design, development and execution against strategic business imperatives
- Experience of leading matrix teams where influencing without authority is essential
- Gained experience leading broader organization wide projects
Scope
Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the successful candidate will have responsibility for providing leadership and full HR business partner support to multiple senior executives at Allison Transmission and across multiple locations.
Employee populations:
Group 1 - Ops/Defense/SC - approximately 550 salaried, 1500 UAW and 400 hourly non-union predominantly US and India based employees
Group 2 - Corporate Functions/Engineering/MS&S/IS&Srole - approx 1000 salaried and 30 hourly - global employees
Travel Requirements
- Combination of domestic and international travel up to 25% to establish and maintain relationships
- Must be able to access key stakeholders easily
