Job Description

The Executive Director of IT RCM Systems will provide strategic direction and oversee the transformation of our Laboratory RCM Systems IT division by consolidating the Legacy Billing System and the Revenue Cycle Management IT teams, which are responsible for billing and collecting over $9 billion in revenue annually. The role will lead the analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support of Laboratory RCM Systems solutions. As a key partner to business leadership, working closely with Senior leaders, as they will drive the modernization of laboratory RCM processes and systems part of a multi-year transformational initiative. The leader will play a key role in annual budget planning and allocation within this area to improve departmental efficiencies. Responsibilities include setting project direction, including scope, project budget, and timeline commitments ensuring the stable, secure, compliant, and continuous operation of systems and applications critical to our multi-billion-dollar revenue.

  • Responsible for overseeing the successful execution and completion of projects within the organization ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Role will involve strategic planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder management to ensure the successful delivery of these projects.
  • Develop and implement project management methodologies, tools, and processes specific to software projects.
  • Create project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements for software development projects.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, designers, and testers, to ensure project success.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, executives, and internal teams, managing their expectation.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Analyze project performance data and quality metrics to derive insights and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Bring in cutting edge technology and innovate to solve business problems.
  • Ability to quickly ramp up and manage a software delivery team with contractors as well as employees in low-cost countries like India.
  • Act as liaison to the business to mitigate and close process gaps and risks that impact the successful delivery of services to the business.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, work plans and project deliverables. Guide team members and business partners in the use of standardized methodology and tools.
  • Manage senior level communications to increase awareness of service delivery issues and to gain executive support on key initiatives and resolution of issues.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications with executive leadership across business, Enterprise IT, support functions, team members, stakeholders, and vendor providers. Communicate status to identified stakeholders.
  • Promote and support company policies, mission, values and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and development opportunities for associates and managers who report into you.

Minimum Required:

  • BE/BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology mandatory. Preferred master's degree in software systems.
  • Minimum of 15 years of IT experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT strategic management experience.
  • Prior experience in implementing Laboratory RCM Systems such as Xifin, Cerner, Change Healthcare, within a Medical/Clinical Laboratory environment and understanding of regulations and laws governing laboratory practices.
  • Experience developing and supporting systems in a regulated environment, specifically adhering to HIPAA and SOX.
  • Familiar with AGILE, DevOps and other development models and organizational structures
  • Extensive experience working in a global, matrixed environment to lead teams and initiatives and navigate through multiple cultural, language, and social differences and challenges.
  • Strong IT, operational, financial, and strategic planning and/or development experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to provide clear messages to all levels within the company. Skilled in performing presentations and leading meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated analysis and problems solving skills using innovative thinking. Able to translate complex issues / topics into language that resonates with clients/customer.
