PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Executive Director of Group Reservations provides overall strategic direction and oversight to ensure the efficient and consistent operation of all group housing needs for corporate-wide convention and event related groups for our Las Vegas properties, excluding Excalibur and Luxor. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental, division and MGM Resorts policies, practices and procedures.

  • Provides strategic leadership for all operations within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for all properties. Leads collaboration with key partners including corporate/property Sales teams, Hotel Operations teams, Revenue Management, and senior management to provide a cohesive group reservations experience for the group segment.
  • Works closely with all Directors of Revenue Management (company-wide) on rate setting, market mix, and block review for all corporate-wide convention and event related groups.
  • Leads the development and monitoring of fiscal budgets, department operations, and strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability for the company; includes working closely with IT to improve property management system software, where required.
  • Oversees the Direct Marketing Strategy Manager in the building of high-value data driven campaign segmentations to fully leverage system functionality and optimize the execution of direct marketing campaigns targeted to the Group segment through the Passkey platform.
  • Oversees Human Resources responsibilities for the department to include: creating and maintaining a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction; ensuring quality hiring, staffing level evaluation, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment.
  • Ensures adherence to customer service standards within established division and departmental policies and procedures, by responding to guest correspondence and/or guest concerns in a professional and timely manner, achieving positive guest/problem resolution.
  • Directs and participates in the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure MGM Resorts International's competitive position in anticipation of changing group customer needs within the dynamic hospitality/gaming environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years in hotel operations management and/or group reservations management
