Job Description As a senior leader in Software Engineering in Credit Card Technology, you'll combine your years of proven expertise with a never-ending quest to create innovative technology through solid engineering practices. Key roles and responsibilities
  • Responsible for carrying out technology objectives for multiple technical areas or disciplines. Sets the overall direction and short-term operational goals, fiscal control and compliance, and ensuring quality and ethics. Anticipates and resolves escalated issues and empowers teams.
  • Manages multiple stakeholders and complex projects consisting of large teams. Ensures technical compliance is adopted, and that SLAs, solution scalability needs, strategic and operational targets are met.
  • Role typically requires strong knowledge of software, applications, technical systems, technical processes, and product/project management within a technical discipline with advanced knowledge of additional disciplines and cross functional business knowledge.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry and point of view on how emerging tech and trends impact the business.
  • Proficient understanding of organization's IT systems, operating model, technical methodologies, and technical delivery standards to effectively navigate and influence the organization.
  • Applies cross-functional technical expertise, leadership, and comprehensive business knowledge to a broad range of areas to communicate, manage and implement strategic and operational plans.
  • Leverages technical expertise and business knowledge to drive adoption and implementation of technical methods within teams in line with product development methodologies.
  • Projects are highly complex matters with no direct precedents, where analysis of issues, data, processes, and situations require advanced knowledge of departmental objectives and in-depth industry/technical knowledge.
  • Challenges have direct impact multiple technologies and areas of the business. Issue resolution requires translating complex business / technical needs into objectives, specifications and plans.
  • Exercises a high degree of independent judgement to make decisions regarding the interpretation and application of small-scale policies and procedures.
  • Implements innovative methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people in the solution of highly complex technical / business issues.
  • Highly independent decisions with little to no precedents that have impact across multiple departments. Decisions may impact the design / implementation strategy for new technology, procedures, or processes.
  • Has discretion over financial control & budget management.
  • Decisions have significant influence on departments, teams, and technical specialists. Decisions also influence department schedules, quality, compliance, and resource allocation, as well as overall strategy, operational and technical plans in the short- and long-term.
  • Regularly consults with network of SMEs and partners with the business to inform priorities and system, application or product enhancements. Receives high level feedback and approval from technical function leadership to inform development of strategic plans.
  • Manages the activities of multiple departments of sizeable employee populations, directly or indirectly.
  • Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams, frequently oversees employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business. Delegates assignments focusing heavily on dependent, critical and related issues and opportunities. May act as primary interface with internal and external executives and senior leaders, achieving consensus among stakeholders with competing objectives.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous an open feedback within teams and business unit.

Qualifications
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 20+ years of IT experience
  • Mastery of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Command of architecture, design, and business processes
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Expertise in working in in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Experienced in modern programming languages and cloud based technologies
  • Experience in financial banking domain will be a plus
  • Experience in Agile development practices
