As the Executive Director, Sr. Legal Counsel, you will be trusted to lead the legal support for the US Surgical Business and Global Surgical Franchise teams acting as a strategic legal partner. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Act as subject matter expert, applying deep legal expertise and practices with superior working knowledge.
• Build relationships with and counsel senior business partners and senior management on complex matters including commercial proposals, new product launches, and the integration of acquisitions.
• Represent Legal on respective teams within Alcon to provide critical legal perspectives.
• Collaborate and develop new and creative strategies to improve site culture. Anticipate and provide assessments of changing regulations while identifying vital changes to internal policies and processes.
• Training and advising management on new legal trends and legislation in relevant areas.
• Assess, manage and monitor legal risks to the organization and articulate identified risks to management.
• Supports Head Legal, North America & Global Franchises and the rest of the Legal leadership team in achieving the vision and mission of the Legal Function.
• Continuously develop personal and professional skills.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• Juris Doctorate.
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
• 10 years directly related experience, to include 10 years leading people
• Experience within the Medical Device industry.

HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:

• Experience working as an in-house counsel.
• Ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience in advising on Legal and business risks as they arise within a regulated healthcare business.
• Experience in leading the legal support of one or more key businesses.
• Experience in the medical device or other life sciences industry is highly preferred.
• Collaborate with Senior Leaders in an effort to continually improve the eye health market.
