Executive Director Strategy & Bus Development
Job Description
Primary responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with leaders of Toshiba Retail businesses globally to understand business strategies in order to establish partnership and/or investment objectives
- Evaluate target companies for alignment to Toshiba solutions strategy for partnership, investment or acquisition
- Build network for Toshiba retail with Venture Capital, Private Equity and Investment Banking firms
- Screen deals by meeting with prospects, reviewing business plans/pitch presentations, and evaluating opportunities
- Build investment thesis
- Apply competitive and market analysis
- Define business model
- Manage deal pipeline
- Coordinate resources and execute respective processes for new partnerships investments and acquisitions
- Define fit with business solution portfolio
- Complete financial assessment and recommendations (modeling, valuation deal structuring)
- Evaluate technology, including Intellectual Property
- Manage critical aspects of formal due diligence
- Negotiate deal terms and conditions
- Orchestrate regular presentation of analysis, findings and potential deals to global retail leaders
- Manage a team of professionals to:
- Perform market research to identify trends and new investment opportunities
- Provide support for US-based portfolio investments
- Oversee business relationships with critical partners
Required skills and experience
- Demonstrated track record of professional success from 15+ years of work experience including 5+ years in Venture Capital, Private Equity or Investment banking
- Experience with retail a plus
- Degree in business or finance is required. MBA is preferred
- Top notch strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to produce and present well designed presentations
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong written/verbal communications skills
- Desire to collaborate with peers across the globe
