In this role, the Executive Engagement Manager performs a range of functions in support of the Mayo Clinic Executive Office, specifically supporting engagements on behalf of executive leadership. The position provides primary support for executive outreach at an enterprise level, including responsibility for writing and communications on behalf of executive leadership; ensuring that engagement opportunities are reviewed and assessed based on a standard set of criteria; development of reports of the program's performance, including measurement of return on investment; development of background/briefing documents in collaboration with Communications, Development and other Mayo Clinic staff. This person will serve as primary liaison with outside counsel to develop proactive strategy for placement of leaders in preferred settings to establish and enhance the public profile of Mayo Clinic with key stakeholders. The Executive Engagement Manager takes an active leadership role to successfully drive, develop, implement, monitor and measure results of executive office efforts to advance Mayo Clinic's strategic plan and business objectives. Manages ongoing relationship with third parties and contractors. Manages budgets. Exhibits servant leadership with empathy, kindness and support inspiring loyalty. Instills direction, alignment and commitment for a shared sense of purpose.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field, which may include liberal arts, business, communications, marketing, healthcare, or similar field, plus 7-10 years professional experience in a relevant field. Deep experience supporting executives, writing on behalf of executives, and managing engagements for various audiences including board meetings, staff meetings, and external conference presentations. Must possess high personal motivation supporting a strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence from executive leadership, and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.Proven expertise in creating and executing communications strategies based upon business objectives. Requires strong leadership, problem solving, critical thinking, active listening, persuasive oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills. Proven communications consultative, planning and execution abilities. Must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style and collaborative environment that expects and promotes teamwork. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively to drive forward multiple projects simultaneously. Has a positive influence on others. Position requires occasional travel and the flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
