Job Description

JOIN THE SHOW: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is currently seeking a dedicated Executive Meetings & Events Manager to serve as the primary contact for smaller convention groups.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for acquiring rooming lists, managing transportation logistics, coordinating meeting room arrangements, and liaising with billing and credit departments.

The overarching goal is to meticulously craft an outstanding experience for our convention attendees, ensuring seamless coordination and exceeding their expectations. Join us in delivering excellence in service.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  • Autonomous Program Management: Work independently and unsupervised to ensure that all program requirements and client requests are facilitated to the highest standards.
  • Client and Internal Coordination: Work directly with clients and internal departments, overseeing various functions, including transportation, guest rooms, meetings, pre-planning, limos, amenities, site inspections, credit, Banquet Event Orders (BEO's), and diagrams.
  • Effective Communication: Assume the pivotal role of the main point of communication between the client and all departments within the property, both in pre-planning and on-site.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Develop a robust working relationship with all support departments, ensuring seamless collaboration for a successful event for our customers and take accountability for the overall success of multiple conventions happening simultaneously, demonstrating adept management skills in handling various events concurrently.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

  • Bachelor's Degree Hotel Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in a hotel or convention services department.
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT?

  • Knowledgeable of Front Desk and/or Convention Reservations procedures
  • Knowledgeable of meeting space and room capacities
  • General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, money handling
  • Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
