Executive Protection and Event Security Program Manager

• From pre-event planning to load-in to teardown, manage all aspects of event security for Discord activations at conventions, concerts, trade shows, and special events. 

• Develop an Event Security program from the ground up to support Discord activations globally. 

• Working with the Marketing Team, develop event security plans tailored to the event, allowing Discord employees, partners, and users to focus on having fun.

• Oversee physical security vendors during events (law enforcement, uniformed security, venue security, K9, etc.)

• Manage Discord’s Executive Protection program, and oversee the operations of the contract Executive Protection team, contractor relationships, coordinating logistics, developing policy, and managing relationships with executives. 

• Develop policies around the protection of Discord executives and other higher risk employees

• Working with Executive Business Partners and coordinate logistics for executive business and personal travel.

• Plan, implement, and manage security preparedness and emergency protocols for Discord events and executives. 

• Review and onboard security vendors to support Discord operations. 

• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Corporate Security Manager

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education / experience

• 4+ years of experience working in corporate security or executive protection with at least 2 of those years managing security for corporate events.

• Experience creating security plans for large events with thousands of attendees.

• Experience working with internal and external partners, such as the Events / Marketing Team, law enforcement, and government agencies. 

• Demonstrated skills in threat identification and de-escalation techniques.

• Experience reviewing contracts, vetting and onboarding vendors in support of security operations.

• Attitude of customer service, collaboration, flexibility, and initiative.

• Familiarity with the Discord app

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000 to $136,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
