Front Office Executive Writer
VA HQ, Vermont Avenue NW-Washington, DC.
Onsite-Hybrid Position
EM Key Solutions seeks a Front Office Executive Writer with an active Public Trust clearance to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information & Technology (OIT) Office of Communications (OC) in accomplishing its communication mission and objectives.
Duties:
- Support the Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology and the Chief Information Officer by writing speeches, blogs, presentations, e-mails, and overall written communication.
- Verify that all developed communications align with OIT Communications standards, templates, and existing documentation.
- Create, modify, or edit documentation for briefings, status reports, project management plans, staffing and security status, and data reports.
- Identify, develop, and implement strategic and tactical components of a large-scale, national communication program for the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information & Technology (OIT).
- Integrate multiple communication vehicles, channels, and products into a comprehensive and consistent strategy.
- Apply a variety of frameworks (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.) to support project management, schedule management, scope management, and requirements management, depending on the type of effort.
- Report progress towards goals and deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ Years of direct experience supporting government appointees with strategic marketing and public relations content.
- 5+ Years of experience in the full breadth of communications functions, including strategy, visuals/graphic design, branding, text-based communication products and messaging, employee communication, and web-based communication channels.
- Familiarity with key functions and offices at the VA.
- Understanding of technical, health, and IT concepts and ability to communicate them to a layman's audience.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or related field.
- Writing samples for presentation to the client for review and alignment with Executive Style(s).
- The ability to work onsite at VA HQ as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior VA Communications experience
- Experience using Excel, SharePoint, PowerApps, Power BI, and Power Automate to build dashboards and executive-level reporting
Clearance:
Active Public Trust; interim clearance is acceptable. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
