Exhibitor Sales Manager
Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Exhibitor Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting and selling exhibitor booths to create a unique shopping experience for attendees at Barrett-Jackson auctions inclusive of all product categories. Works in conjunction with the sales team to design and develop the site plan for each event, with emphasis on layout of exhibitor booths. Upsell exhibitors using assets including, but not limited to, naming rights, onsite branding, digital and print advertising, experiential marketing, corporate hospitality, ticket packages and special events.
This position is office-based in Scottsdale, AZ and travel is required on a quarterly basis.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Continually develop new prospects to build and manage a sustained, multi-million-dollar pipeline of opportunities.
- Formulate business relationships and new clients through cold calling, referrals, networking, and face-to-face meetings.
- Coordinate and execute the development, delivery and presentation of exhibitor and sponsorship proposals where necessary.
- Understand the marketing objectives of clients and determining how Barrett-Jackson can help them achieve their goals.
- Foster client relationships in between and during auctions to create a mutually beneficial partnership and generate additional revenue.
- Manage the exhibitor partnership renewal process in tandem with the activation team and the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.
- Document and track sales process through CRM maintaining extremely organized notes.
- Monitor marketplace, including local and national sports and entertainment properties.
- Work closely with other departments and the activation team to look for additional revenue opportunities for potential and current clients.
- Ensure efficient and smooth contracting process across all stakeholders.
- Work as sales team member in assisting as additional requests arise both in office and onsite at auctions.
- Develop site plans for each live event to facilitate the events operational requirements.
- Prepare an annual budget for the exhibitor sales program. Monitor and maintain the expenses of the program within the approved budget.
- Develop policies and procedures for exhibitor marketing, booking, placement and maintenance.
- Organize and implement any site and/or event-related features to enhance the draw to the exhibitor marketplace.
- Work with Vice President of Corporate Partnership and Partnership Activation team on appropriate placement of sponsor displays in harmony with desired exhibitor display arrangement.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Friendly and customer service oriented
- Team player who works in collaboration with other departments
- Deep working knowledge of the sales process and a strong general sales acumen, as well as superior relationship development and account management skills.
- Understand and excel at exhibit and sponsorship sales.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Broadcast, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
- 3+ years exhibit or sponsorship sales experience and track record of proven success in closing deals.
- Strong ability to secure new clients and maintain relationships; source and develop new leads.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated client and advertising agency knowledge and relationships preferred (automotive industry relationships a plus).
- Experience using CRM or related platforms.
- An extensive background in event management is preferred
- Position requires excellent negotiation, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to travel to auctions and sales meetings required.
- Positive demeanor in collaborating with others and proactive desire to continuously learn and grow.
