POSITION TITLE
Expense and Treasury Accountant
LOCATION
Richmond, VA
This position is available to Virginia residents as Richmond, Virginia in-office applicants with a hybrid work schedule.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Perform daily and monthly accounting, balancing and reconciliation of Treasury and Operational accounts involving various interacting systems for Genworth's US Life Insurance business segment
- Identify open items and take action to clear them on a timely basis
- Support daily accounting processes for Cash and Expenses
- Identification and implementation of improvements and efficiencies in accounting processes
- Partnership with Treasury operations areas on accounting requirements and bank account management
- Perform monthly account analysis and research variances
- Support financial monthly close and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for cash balances, outstanding payments and operational expenses
- Compliance with control guidelines to include SOX and participation in internal and external audits as appropriate
- Participate and collaborate with business areas on cross-business process improvement projects
- Provide detailed, consistent and timely feedback to management, both verbally and in writing
- Participate in special assignments and projects, as needed
MUST HAVE / WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 2 years progressive accounting experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to assess and solve detailed issues in a fast-paced environment and to communicate requirements effectively to a variety of constituents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in data management and spreadsheet presentation techniques within Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently in a high-volume transaction environment
