We’re looking for an Experience Design Director with the passion and experience to create what matters – one project at a time. 

Our new Experience Design Director will play a leadership role in setting bar for digital product creation quality and then establishing processes and practices for realizing that vision. They contribute to the development of Designit’s experience design engagement models and internal experience principles; and then ensure that those are appropriately interpreted through the team's work. The Director upholds annual strategic goals, guides best practices, supports new skills and maximizes performance of the team members. The Experience Design Director is a staunch defender for their team members, the champion of the team's values and the visionary for the future of the team. The Director will support and facilitate communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams and with client.

• Participate in project reviews, growing a constructive feedback culture in service of enhancing the individual and team skillsets
• Consistent awareness of emerging talent needs in the craft of experience design to guide our clients’ needs aligned to trend and technology changes in the market
• Collaborate with internal account executives to shape and present design-led pitches and proposals to accurately represent the digital product creation process, experience design expertise and industry best practices in our approaches (typically RFP responses) 
• Act as the voice for experience design, internally with other teams and Designit initiatives, as well as externally with clients and as a thought leader the industry 

We would like you to have... 

• 10+ years of experience delivering best-in-class digital product experiences
• 5+ years of experience leading design teams working within an agile process 
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Design, Information Architecture, HCI, or equivalent project/portfolio experience
• Experience growing and managing a team of experienced designers of varying levels
• Experience working with large-scale and complex projects/solutions and/or teams/organizations, either in-house or within a consultancy.
• Fluency in best practices for interaction design, design thinking, UX principles and methodologies, and proficiency mentoring others in these areas
• A portfolio of design work that showcases modern design work that excites you and demonstrates your ability to lead from conception to launch of digital products/experiences. We are excited to see your case studies that directly contributed to client success and demonstrate the role of design within the product development process
• Strong ability to bridge the design and development process and upholds best practices underlying interactive technologies, such as web and mobile
• Expertise and care for designing for accessibility, diversity, and inclusivity, and also about developing and retaining diverse design talent on the team
• An ability to break down complex problems and delegate tasks in order to create intuitive, accessible, inclusive experiences that are user-centric and data-driven digital products/experiences
• Comfortable in a consulting role and experienced in a client-facing position and presentations within a digital agency/consultancy
• Experience identifying and working closely with multiple stakeholders on large design initiatives, scaled across an ecosystem of digital projects
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, and collaborate with distributed teams in a global environment
• A love for big, business and world-changing ideas, and a desire to contribute to shaping them

Compensation Range: $175,000 - $200,000 

This compensation range is indicative of the role. Compensation offered is on the basis of evaluation during interview process, the candidates range and depth of experience, business and market financials and internal pay parity.
