Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-orientedController/ Experienced Bookkeeperto oversee financial operations and guide strategic financial planning. This leadership role requires strong knowledge of GAAP, medical billing practices, and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings a blend of accounting expertise, healthcare billing familiarity, and a commitment to mission-driven work. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Oversight • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, payroll, billing, A/R, A/P, and bank reconciliations. • Ensure accurate recording and classification of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP. • Maintain and improve financial systems, policies, and internal controls. Billing & Revenue Cycle Management • Collaborate with internal teams and insurance payers to ensure proper and timely claims submission. • Monitor reimbursements, investigate denials or discrepancies, and guide resolution. • Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and HIPAA requirements. Financial Planning & Reporting • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in alignment with strategic goals. • Conduct financial analysis and present actionable insights to leadership. Compliance & Audit • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. • Coordinate quarterly reviews and year-end close in partnership with external CPA or audit firm. • Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory reviews. Leadership & Collaboration • Serve as the key financial advisor to company leadership. • Train and mentor staff on financial procedures, billing processes, and best practices. • Recommend process improvements and contribute to the company’s financial health and scalability. Qualifications • Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Certification in bookkeeping (e.g., CPB or CB) • 5+ years of progressive financial management experience, including medical billing or healthcare accounting • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines independently • Preferred: • CPA license or progress toward CPA • Experience with government-funded healthcare programs or Medical billing Job Type: Full-time Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits: • Health insurance • Paid time off Work Location: In person
