Experienced Consultant, M&A (Value Identification)

Our Mergers and Acquisitions team is looking for an Experienced Consultant supporting our Value Identification center of excellence. This group is focused on data analytics as a means to identify value, and technology strategy to unlock that value. Core function of the team is to partner with private equity clients and their portfolio companies to analyze large and complex datasets for trends and findings regarding the subject’s performance across operations, technology, sales and marketing, and other corporate functions.

What will you be doing?

Data Analytics / Client Delivery:

• Supporting Private Equity funds in buy side diligence, sell side diligence, and value creation planning projects
• Conducting analysis on large foundational datasets, including transaction data, employee census files, general ledger data, sales pipeline data, manufacturing logs, and other raw system extracts
• Identifying core findings and trends in data for project teams to quantifiably support recommendations across technology and operations
• Support financial modeling of recommendations to show impacts on client P&L statements
• Visualize data and findings in easily understandable, clear formats for clients and investors
• Support storyline development for project teams – drawing together data analysis, visualizations, recommendations, and financial impacts into a cohesive deliverable

Capability Support:

• Support business development efforts for new and existing clients
• Support development of analytics tools in core toolkit (Alteryx, R, Excel)
• Opportunity to support broader organizational efforts to bolster data literacy and data led value creation
• Support development of industry perspective pieces, in both written articles and research (primary and secondary)

We need someone who can bring the following to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• Studies in Economics, Finance, Applied Math & Statistics, Data Science all preferred
• Prior experience with Alteryx and R preferred
• High proficiency with Excel required
• Prior experience or substantial coursework with data visualization preferred
• Prior experience working with large and complex datasets preferred
• Prior experience conducting industry research preferred
• Interest in building a new analytics driven, strategy team and capability within an established consultancy

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below).
