What we do:

The Experimental Flight Test Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the experimental flight test department for flight test planning, coordination, and conduct of flight test. This includes development of flight operations resource scheduling, supporting development of the sub-scale technology demonstration test plans, assisting with preparation for the sub-scale technology demonstration flight readiness reviews, and contributing to the flight test risk management process. This position entails operation and piloting of sub-scale test aircraft supporting Supernal’s technology development. This position will oversee administrative efforts of flight test resource scheduling to support a comprehensive schedule coordination and communication for flight test resources (personnel, aircraft and equipment). This position will interface directly Test, Evaluation and Certification (TEC) Group and ultimately the broader Engineering & Technology Division.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What you can do:
  • Support operations and piloting of sub-scale aircraft
  • Support flight operations resource daily and weekly scheduling
  • Host flight operations schedule meetings
  • Submit Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) applicable to Supernal flight operations
  • Communicate weather outlook forecasts for flight planning
  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling segments and availability/assignment for other test resources to align with the planned test team activities
  • Updating electronic trackers and communication tools that the flight test team uses for reference. These will include tracking of crew qualifications, recency/currency, expiration dates for certifications and qualifications. This will also include updating and maintaining document trackers applicable to various projects/programs
  • Write and review flight test documentation such as checklists, operational procedures, test plans, post-flight daily reports, issue/deficiency documentation, and safety related documentation
  • Support flight test project discussions and planning
  • Support engineering design meetings and reviews with pilot perspectives for system/capability design.
  • Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
  • BS degree with three (3) years of related experience or MS degree with 0-12 months of experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Experience with sub-scale remote piloting
  • Experience with remote piloting of sub-scale fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft preferred
  • FAA Private pilot certificate preferred
  • FAA third class medical certificate preferred
  • Experience with electric aircraft preferred
  • Remote piloting with sub-scale remotely piloted aircraft
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow-up
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills
  • Ability to create aircraft technical documentation such as operating checklists, operator’s manuals, technical issue reports, and support development and review of technical test result reports.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and be able to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Ability to support flight operations in the Mojave/CPG area
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and constant change
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.

The pay range for this position is:
$166,400—$232,960 USD
