As an Expert MLOps Engineer supporting Research and Development, you will be trusted to design, develop and operationalize machine learning systems to augment its digital product portfolio with AI/ML enabled technology. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Design and implement scalable Machine Learning systems with strong knowledge on Machine Learning Life Cycle and Phases
• Hands On experience to Implement a variety of ML algorithms across different tooling on AWS and build end-end pipelines in AWS SageMaker and/or Domino Data Lab Platform
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and other stakeholders to determine the requirements and ideal implementation strategy for these algorithms.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers, Data engineers to build scalable ML Pipelines
• Leverage and connect to data platforms for algorithm training on the cloud, as well as retraining models upon data triggers.
• Build monitoring and logging tools to observe model performance and trigger retraining upon model degradation or data drift.
• Build well-architected ML Pipelines adhere to MLOps cluster hosting requirements to efficiently handle scalable model end points in Production.
• Extend and customize existing ML libraries and frameworks and execute on Alcon's custom ML Platform to support, as required, R&D portfolio projects

What you'll bring to Alcon:

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs;Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred Requirements:

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g PyTorch/Tensorflow/Keras) and libraries (e.g., ScikitLearn/XGBoost) and integrating them into Cloud-based ML applications.
• Experience with AWS Services such as Sagemaker suite, AWS Step Functions, Cognito, EC2 with Deep Learning AMIs, S3, AWSCLI, Lambda, API Gateway, Athena, DynamoDB and Glue
• Strong knowledge on Design patterns, experience in Event driven architecture, microservices and container orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), Model Training, Model Deployment, Model Registry, CI/CD, Model Monitoring tools is a plus. (Kubeflow, MLFlow, KServe, Airflow, Jenkins etc)
• Experience in deploying, observability and monitoring Machine Learning Models in Production
• Hands experience in using Git Version Control, CLI/ SDK, boto3, Notebooks, VS Code and familiarity in Python/Java
• AWS Certified Machine Learning or an equivalent certification is a plus
